Spartan Sports Journalism Classic All-Star Panel: Covering the Olympic Games

4-5 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014 | Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

CAS alumni Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News, Jo-Ann Barnas, former Detroit Free Press sportswriter; and Craig Custance of ESPN will share their experiences covering the Olympic Games. MSU Athletics Hall of Famer, NBA All-Star, U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist and NBA TV sports analyst Steve Smith will serve as moderator.

Doors for the panel will open at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are free, but those wanting to attend the panel are asked to register via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/covering-the-olympic-games-steve-smith-and-all-star-journalist-panel-tickets-11075371735

Seating will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.Students participating in Speed Coaching will also need to register for a seat to the panel. 

Prior to the panel, there also will be an opportunity for alumni, faculty, staff and students to have their photo taken with journalism faculty member Sue Carter’s Olympic torch, which she carried during the Olympic Torch Relay leading to the Salt Lake City Winter Games in 2002.
