911: I Am Shocked ...

... at how many people failed to say when this incident took place (today). Isn't that one of the 5 W's -- who, what, when, where and why -- that every story should include, and include prominently?

Some stories were missing the when and where (e.g., the victim's home, and/or at East Lansing home).

Let's be sure we are using the 5 W's as a proofreading checklist to make sure we are including all key elements of a story. Every story needs to have all 5 W's, and in the vast majority of cases those need to be in the lede and/or nut graf.

If your story is missing any of the 5 W's, then we need to identify and add those to the story.
